It’s about time I got a second language under my belt. Everyone from outside the US speaks their native tongue + english (at least). I would like to challenge myself to do the same, and Spanish is the most useful candidate as I plan on traveling around Central and South America in the next year or so.

Alright, I’ll be taking Spanish 3 next year, but I feel like there’s more I can do to really speak the language.
lostchild14 is musing . . .
I have taken spanish 1 in 8th grade and will take spanish 2 next year in 9th. I travel to Spanish speaking countries so I would like to be fluent. Some of my friends and family are fluent so it would help all the more. I can read more than 3/4 of a book in spanish so my goal is to become fluent in speaking it rather then reading it, which I can pretty much do. Hope I can do it!!!

Well I’m a geography major, and i would love to concentrate on Latin/ Southern America. It would be great, if I could actually speak to the people of the country. Plus I think knowing more then one language increases your intelligence and keeps oneself “sharp”.
I’ve been doing Spanish for many years, but for some reason, it’s not sticking. I’m still not fluent.
I want to reallyseriously commit to learning Spanish, because I know that if I do, I’ll feel really accomplished and awesome. ^^
I’ve studied French five years, German for one, lived in Korea and can’t really speak any of those languages. I’d love to learn and speak Spanish fluently. It will be such a useful language when I move back to America.
I think by July 1st, I’d like to have some Spanish language software.
I work in a call center and I was thinking about getting a 2nd job to earn some extra money and it hit me like a brick. I have been working in a call center for over 8 yrs and my job pays a extra $1 per hr for bi-lingual customer service representatives which happen to be hispanic, to take care of our spanish speaking customers. If I learn to speak spanish, I don’t have to get a 2nd job, I can stay where I am.
