I just need to get of some dead weight.
About 165 lbs of it.
How I did it: Ok, I didn't really manage to organize my home. Now that I am moving I am leaving everything behind, so there is nothing more to organize. Of course, my new home will need organization, too, but it will be at least a month before I will have a new place and I have no idea what it will look like. This will definitely need a new goal. It feels good to leave stuff behind, no more clutter for now! Read how I did it…

when there is more room to put things away.
Trust me I had a lot of stuff but I’m not going to be tossing out all of my worldly possessions. I like my things. My clothes, books, photos, crafting supplies. Plus all the things that make a house a home, kitchen supplies, linens, games & toys, holiday decor. All the things a 44 year old wife would have to run a home with a couple of kids cats and a dog.

So, I’ve organized the basement storage room, my desktop, my seasonal clothing. That leaves 40 more things to organize. I’m busy today so I’ll need to find a small thing to organize, even if it’s one drawer or shelf.

just have to get in the kitchen cupboards, then it’s down in the basement!
I keep stopping and starting cause I go back and get rid of alittle at a time. It’s a psychological prison.
I believe that, less is a lot. I am reading about Feng Shui. This is helping.
I am buying clear plastic containers for all my things and packing them away. Especially things I don't use everyday . I built a workspace in my dinning room. I live in a two bedroom It's just me and my son, soon just me. I hardly use my dinning room for eating. I'm trying not too be wasteful. I do art and photography so I used my dining room for my works space. I brought a smaller table to eat at. Now I am not wasting that space. I use to do my school work and everything else in my bedroom. When I needed to relax I could not cause of the things in there. A bedroom Is for relaxing. I stop that. I use it solely for relaxing. I packed away all the clutter and organized it in my closet, my magazines, my cds, my old college worK. I'm recycling my cards, Christmas, birthday, etc., I kept for the past 20 something years. Iam using them for as art inspiration for my paintings. What I don't use, I'll give to a hospital for kids to use for crafts. I Keep so many things people give me cause they all have special meaning to me. I am learning to let some go little by little. What I can not let go, I put a way in clear containers so I can see I'm not keeping too much. I want my home to be free of clutter. So, If I am not ready to let go of it,I store it out of sight. Then I go back through the containers and get rid of more or, recycle it or, give it away. I have came a long way. The energy flow in my home is so much better. Do you have a big home? What types of stuff do you hold on to?

be better worded as “organize my home better than it is now.” As much as I’d like to have a tidy, spare existence, with very few belongings and clutter-free, some people just aren’t cut out to live that way. Not even after they’ve tidied up for company. Some of us simply need a staff of clerks for filing & retrieval of numerous sorts objects & items. Without clerical help, true organization in the fullest sense of the word just isn’t going to happen. I don’t like that, but there it is. The truth.
So I officially steer my use of this goal as a partial hit at organization.
So there.

Somethings have just been being ignored. I like the one room/one drawer thing. I still have to start with major storage areas and I think that’s the entire reason I’m procrasting. Those are scary places with monsters of all types to deal with. Concentrate main storage room. Try 15 minutes a day to get into groove.

This overarching goal is tied to my checklists, my maintaining the filing cabinet, and my cleaning routines.
I like having this goal on my main page to remind me of the overall outcome I’m looking for. But I’ll put my progress of the other goals as entries for them, instead of here.

didn’t see me getting anything into notebooks, but I did work on organizing the paperwork. Which led to noticing gaps in the info. Which led to Internet time & more paper.
Progress was, however, made.
Did a pile of that last night, too.

I’ll do SOMETHING on this goal today. The empty notebooks are ready with tabbed dividers. I will get at least ONE person’s paperwork from their family history at least 50% notebooked up.
