Get My Own Laptop

I am very excited! My IT sister made fun of my mom for getting an HP, but hey that was what I could afford. Excited to have it!

after months of borrowing my mom bought me my own laptop. A secondhand one, but beggar’s can’t be choosers right?

Seems the hand-me-down laptop from work is too old to do Broadband. Guess it’s about time to get a new computer. Probably time to bite the bullet and do it! Changing this goal to “Get my own laptop” and putting it lower on the list.

So Cingular called today. My billing was supposed to be bundled with my SBC service, but since it’s taken so darn long to get SBC service they were asking what the deal was. I ended up telling her my whole story. While I was on the phone I asked her if I can get wireless internet service with Cingular so I can bypass getting a home phone line again entirely. The answer is yes. of course I had asked the SBC person the same question and they said no. I like yes better. So tomorrow I’m going to a Cingular store in the morning with my laptop to see about a wireless card.

Called them today. I hate calling them. It always gets off to a bad start with that BS of enter your telephone number (I DON”T KNOW MY NUMBER MY PHONE SERVICE HASN”T BEEN SET UP YET BUT I”M NOT A NEW ORDER EITHER!!!!!!) and how the automated options never quite seem to fit. How when you press O, you still get more automated options. I had to schedule yet another installation visit, so now I will have to stay home on Friday from 2-6. Hopefully after this the drama will be over and I can receive my internet kit. All the PEOPLE I talk to are very nice so I always end up apologizing for being so annoyed by the time I get on with them.

Called old cell phone company to get out of “termination charge.” I was told the resolution to my cell phone service poroblems were for them to build a new cell phone tower in my neighborhood. Now I have to “check back” to make sure my termination charges gets credited. I’m soooo over calling these people!

Riddled with guilt, I’m on my computer at work adding goals! I need to take care of this goal so I use my work time more responsibly. Found this website yesterday and I’m finding it addictive. Will not go on again until I’m on my laptop at home!!!!!!!

It’s been a struggle to hook up phone service in my apartment. Drama with SBC. But the end is in sight. I want to do stuff like this and keep in touch better by being able to log in at home.
