learn to flirt

Apparently, I have been flirting this whole time with out even knowing it!

My style is the quiet, personal smiling girl. Which means I touch them a lot. Touch their arm, pad their back, etc.

It means I smile a lot. My answer to questions can be no words and just a smile. That’s flirting.

I ask them questions and sometimes answer the question for them teasingly. Teasing is flirting.

I want to learn to be confident and feminine and alluring. Every time I try to flirt, I start to think that the object of my flirting doesn’t really like me and I get too self-conscious to keep flirting. I’m hoping my dance lessons will make me feel more confident and comfortable with being feminine and flirtatious.

Not only did I flirt with the waiter last night, but I also winked at the guitar player when I put a tip in his jar. I got a huge smile for my efforts (on both counts).

It did take me two tries to flirt with the waiter – the first time I started laughing and couldn’t say anything. Which made my friend who was with me laugh, and then the waiter laughed, too. Of course, he had no idea what was so funny, but that didn’t seem to bother him.

I was helping out with a project at our city office today, and a man came in to pay his bill. He said something kind of flirty, and I thought, “Oh, boy, here’s my chance, can I do it?” I’m kind of surprised that I thought fast enough to come up with something to say, let alone say it so it didn’t sound stupid, but I did and it didn’t. I’m not sure, but I think he actually blushed. ;-)

The lesson consisted of saying Hello or Hi to 43 women and I’ll have to admit, it did start up a few conversations so you could say I was semi flirting :).
The exercise also had me tracking what the women wore. I had to report back and keep track of so many women I had to have a frame of reference. Lesson learnt from that was that it paid to be observant (conversations were mostly on stuff like nice sweater, interesting shoes and so on.

There were some nice smiles there too but well it seemed cheesy to compliment too many of them on their smile.

Having gone through this I think maybe I need to be more specific on what I want to learn from this. It isn’t difficult starting up a conversation with someone especially when they’re interested in you but how do you start up a conversation with someone you’re interested in ? much harder.
I’m sure each of those 43 women were special to someone but to me, it’s tough keeping the one I want interested.

i think i’m pretty good at flirting but once i do this, guys say i lead them on too much. Because i’m afraid to get in a relationship. I don’t know how to not be scared after seeing my friends get hurt.

Suddenly I forgot how, I became such a quiet person after that, and I keep my mouth shut for fear of being offensive.

I need to STOP DOING THIS! :) I think that’s the first key to learning to flirt – just me personally, not generally!

Being honest and myself – flirty as such with guys I know well is easy. To new guys, another kind of language altogether! :(
