And not a single flop (which is rare)! We even made backup cupcakes in case the torte didn’t work out, but we didn’t need them. A picture of “Chocolate Delirium”.
Tomorrow is Daddy’s birthday. We’re going to start him off with a nice breakfast, get our school work done, and then make him a special birthday dinner that includes:
Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms
Pork Tenderloin encrusted with Jack Cheese and bread crumbs
Spinach salad with a Honey Mustard dressing
Chocolate Torte with whipped cream and fresh berries
Wish us luck!! :o)
for the Chicken Crab Souffle thingy. :o) Sadly, I have a rather nasty head cold, so I couldn’t enjoy the meal. But my husband (who is fast becoming a fan of Chef Irvine’s…heh heh) loved it.
This week’s episode involved Chef and George working on a dinner train. These shows leave me wondering ~ how do I get myself invited to a “Dinner: Impossible” meal? :oD
no “Dinner: Impossible” recipes this week ~ I’m working with my usual family favorites. However, I hope to try Chicken Breast w/Crab and Artichoke Souffle this weekend. :o) I just have to figure out where I can buy some decent crab.
For the first time, I was actually able to cook beef outside of the slow cooker and have it come out tender. That little experience alone made this recipe worth trying.
I sent a general email to both Food Network and Chef Irvine’s website, just expressing my appreciation of the show.
Chef Irvine replied. :oD Hee hee…I’m giddy.
Okay, the Shrimp & Scallops in Garlic Cream Sauce is a kicker with the added Pecorino Romano. Without, it’s a little bland.
Demi-glace recipe ~ a little help from Ochef.com!
Despite its complicated appearance, this dish is do-able! It tastes wonderful and presents nicely. I cheated and served it with store bought mashed potatoes. :o)
Who knew cooking could be THIS exciting? Even my girls (ages 8 and 11) watch the show.
I have tried 2 recipes from the show and have a 3rd waiting in the wings. Thank you Chef Irvine, George and George ~ you guys rock!
