sort out my photos

I have photos going back about 30 years. They filled two boxes. I have made some progress by going through them and getting rid of the blurry mis-shots (don’t you just love film. lol) The rest went into albums so I can at least see what I have. Some have been framed in collage type layouts, which is so much easier than trying to pick one for a frame.

I’ve just scanned in a load more photos and stored them in the correct folders on my computer. I’m considering getting a photo book printed with some of them in when I’m done- should be easy once I’ve got them sorted out and they’d be easily accessible to look at. Certainly better than a box full of random photos!!

I just scanned in 22 photos I had from an old job, then shredded them. ‘Tis but a drop in the ocean, but it’s a start!!

I have so many photos that I never look through because they’re just in a box. I need to sit down and scan them into my computer, backing them up of course!

I think if they were more organised I’d look at them more.

Where do I start

Now that I have sorted out all my computer files, I need to organise a bit more all my photos and images in a way that makes sense. For my photos there’s zillions of it, and sorting them out by years and months probably is the best way to go. Then all the visual stuff that I have on my various hard drive, THIS is going to take time.

I already put all of them in the same 500gb hard drive. It’s a first step!

I have had a box full of photos and albums in tha corner of my bedroom for the past 3 years. I want to sort it out and get the albums on display. When I have done that I need to decide which digital photos need printing and put them in an album (Ihave been taking digital photos since 2000 so there’s a lot to sort through)

Ok, I started this today. Made some progress sorting my (old) printed photos. Now I need to buy some albums and make a decision about whether I want to print my digital photos. I like the idea of those books you can get printed.

I had a mishap with the cat halfway through upload, with a result that only half of the photos retained their labels during transmission, but life is too short to spend it labelling photos again.
The photo albums (ha, as if the 40 shot limit was ever goin to happen) that I haven’t already sent y granddad are now available for his (and your) perusal here.
Three cheers for a goal off the list.

No sooner do I get this goal on my list and set about actually sorting the damn things, then of course the uploading thingie has a strop and decides to start uploading at warp speed 6B per second; estimated time to finish uploading my (31 photo) album: 87 hours.

And now the cat has knocked over the in-tray and everything in it.
