How to become a rock star by Shawn Z

"My 30 seconds of fame was time well spent."

How I did it: About a year ago, a friend of mine introduced me to a band by the name of Saigon Hookers. They play a brand of rock'n'roll, not unlike AC/DC, and they're all very awesome musicians and people. My friend invited me out to see them in concert one night, and it was quite an awesome experience. They put on a great show, and I started to listen to their music a lot more.

Roughly three months after this concert, they were playing again and I was once again right up front, headbanging and singing along with my buddy. During their set, their guitarist/singer came into the crowd, took off his guitar, placed around me and yelled in my ear, "PLAY SOMETHING IN 'E'!!" referring to the key of the song's bridge. Thankfully I knew what he was talking about, and messed about in the key of E for about 30 seconds until he came to reclaim his guitar and continue the song.

At the end of the set, I went up to him and thanked him for a great show, and he replied, "Thanks for rocking out for me!" A couple minutes later, someone from the crowd approached me and said, "Great job, man, You rock!" It was at that time I realized that I was a rock star, even if it was just for that brief 30 seconds.

Lessons & tips: Just be in the right place at the right time. And be patient. It could happen when you least expect it.

    my sister wants 2 become a rock star and make a band and she wants me 2 be in it! help!!!!
    shes talked about it a million times everyday!
    plus she wants me 2 be the drummist (she one time heared me play but on notebooks with 2 sticks and i sang and played the takes over, the breaks over, song of Fall out Boy, but i call it FOB, and said:´Lesley, you never said u played the drums!´ but the problem is that i get stage fright! im sort of a really shy person but really wise and really athletic and energetic! and she wants to be the bass guitar and be the singer, almost lik Pete Wentz,For u people who love pete wentz, ur just like my sister!!!! and 2 tell u something, shes emo, not me.
    P.S: she wants to call the band Emokissez.

    Jrock is what I like the most.
    I’m going to Japan and maybe I’ll have a band over there, but first…don’t you think I should lear how to play bass??

    In my own weird way I am a rock star. I dont have to be in a band a nd live the who rocker life. Its probably not going to happen, so im happy with wat iv got. Iv got the whole idealistic way of a rocker.
