So… I got one for my birthday. It’s actually pretty damn cool- a bamboo fun. I like experimenting on photoshop with it- makes drawing allot easier. I haven’t had the time lately to get good at using it, but with the sumer holidays fast approaching I hope to work on it more soon!

    I finally got one!!!

    Wacom Bamboo 2 years ago

    I love Wacom!!!
I just got their new product, Bamboo, and I love it!

I used to use Wacom intuos in my univeristy, but Bamboo is not bad at all compared with intuos!

Once I tried Hanvon which was almost same price as Bamboo, but it was not good.
I would never recommend people to buy Hanvon tablet, it’s just not right.
The tablet could not just trace the pen exactly.

It depends on you, not the tablet 2 years ago

It doesn’t matter how expensive, cutting-edge or well-designed is the tablet, if you don’t have some kind of artist inside (preferably a painter) don’t think you will be able to do great designs or drawings… even if the salesperson tells you so, he lies you.

Of course, this was NOT my case. I have a painter inside, he’s just waiting to come up in the next graphic tablet revolution.

If it’s of any consolation, my mother, who is REALLY an artist, wasn’t able to draw any kind of figure or landscape using our WACOM

Well, just try it before buying it ;-)

Whether or not this is worth doing is up to you, tablets (cheap) are usually around $100 as far as I can tell. Anything less and it definitely wouldn’t be worth it. The Wacoms are definitely expensive, though they are good tablets. I happened to get a Genius MousePen, which works fine. Takes getting used to. Unless you’re a good artist and/or your into graphical design, you won’t find much used for this. Better to just get a scanner, which is cheaper ;3

I'd love to have one... 3 years ago

...although it’s not for me but for my mother who enjoys drawing very much. I can’t draw anything more complex than a 6 lines house. Damn!

Still looking for perfection: cheapness & quality. But I am to decide by christmas…

I got a Wacom Graphire this week and love it! The Corel Painter software it came with is a huge step up from Paint. It’s a bit like having to relearn how to ride a bicycle…

Boy do I need this! I’ve been drawing ever since I was a little kid and it’s about time I caught with the 21st century. I very much want to do animation and a tablet will help so much.

Time for an upgrade 3 years ago

I’m an owner of a tiny Acecad graphics tablet, though I’ve often wondered what it would be like to use a Wacom or a graphics tablet larger than my hand. I won’t be “accomplishing” this goal anytime soon, but it’s nice to dream.
