sarahinparis Finally finished that bathroom art project! Pics in the entry below
I’ve been getting rid of stuff every day for about 2 weeks now. Every day I try to find at least 3 items I can get rid of (go through a drawer, a shelf, etc).
It’s a simple approach and very therapeutic. Some days I go way beyond 3.

I have too much stuff. Too much of everything, and yet I am still acquiring. I would like to reduce my possessions to a point where I have fewer items in total, but with each one being well-chosen. This applies to clothes, books & all kinds of various other things. My bathroom closets are full of extra tubes of lotions, I have tons of shoes I don’t wear, clothes that I save for ‘someday’ and various little objects all over the place.
There are various ways I can reduce my possessions. For a while I was successful in using a replacement approach to my clothes – where for each item bought, something in my closet got thrown out. I should probably do a major overhaul of my closet, and then apply this rule again. I also I love the idea of a goal I saw recently to give away 100 things. A few years ago I threw out one thing a day for a while – that was pretty liberating and fun, some days I found several things, other days I really had to scramble.
Right now I have other priorities so I won’t add one of these approaches to my formal goals, but it’s something I will keep an eye on, and return to in the future.
