organize my clothes

I should change this to KEEP my clothes organized. I’m in the process of organinzing AGAIN! Well, after that my goal is to keep them organized for at least a month. Maybe after a month, I will have learned to keep them tidy.

I have an incredibly tiny little bedroom in an apartment I share with a roommate, and there’s nowhere to put my overly large collection of clothes. I also have a tendency to not tend to items that need to be handwashed/drycleaned/mended/or ironed, which means I have extra piles of clothes encroaching on my space and yet nothing to wear!

My plan is to 1) get everything cleaned/handwashed/drycleaned; 2) get everything mended; 3) get everything ironed; 4) go through all my clothes and throw out everything I won’t or shouldn’t wear/everything that isn’t flattering or is ill-fitting; 5) store all of my winter clothes so that they’ll be out of the way and ready for when I move; and 6) get everything tailored that needs to be tailored (money is a bit tight right now b/c I’ve been laid off, but I can at least mark or make a list of everything that I’ll keep that needs taken in)

I’m looking forward to having more space in my room and knowing where my clothes are!

Why, oh why, do I have so many clothes that I will never wear? I have things spread out between two closets and a bit more in the basement. Today’s goal is to move everything out of one of the closets, pack up a lot to take to Goodwill tomorrow and generally consolidate. I’m about 2/3 done and feeling happy.

There are so many winter items that could be straightened better in my closet. I won’t need them for 3.5 months, so I will get a step stool and put them up higher so I don’t have to rifle through them the next 3 months!

Always a mess in the neighbourhood of my bed. Let’s put some clothes where they belong.

It’s all a mess. I am living out of boxes at the moment, and my clothes are everywhere…I pull them out, throw them around, mess them up whenever I’m getting dressed. I need to put the ones I use most in one place and pack up the other ones or the room will forever be a mess.

OK So over the weekend I finished my clothes….There were a bunch of stuff I got rid of…...I got rid of 3 skirts , 3 pants, 5 shoes and 8 tops…....there were clothes Brian has that dont fit BUT we decided to hold onto them bc he intends on fitting them AGAIN,
we’ll see!

At my parents yesterday all I had was two robes and a backpack. The backpack is good, but the robes were old.

My brother Glen and I plan to rent a dumpster and split it 1/3 with my parents and get rid of a lot of stuff down there. Then Ill toss them then…...the basement is gross!!!

I figure they may as well sit down there til then bc why remove two items when theres a 1000 more like it?

So thats all that was over there….It is worth doing and if you want to do it ID say follow my steps and spread it over the course of different dates and SCHEDULE it.

Didnt find much to toss, especially Brians clothes. They are all Large and extra Larges and I want to believe he will fit into them some day so theres no reason to throw them out. I can keep hoping.

As for my stuff Im mostly done , and after this weekend should be finished, but this weekend is the BIG job, my master bedroom closet….it has everything in it…...thats a 3 hour job easy. If I sit down and really get into it though I believe I can make it nice. No one NEEDS 40 Pairs of shoes. Some of those tops are over and done with. Brian probably has clothes in there that can go with the other Large and Extra Larges and just keep his 2xs in there.

The top shelf needs to be organized. THEN…all my clothes will be organized! Wish me luck!
