Well, more like 11 years if I really think about it. The benefit of the US Armed Forces is you can earn college credit for life experiences. Yes, you can earn credit for the experiences you have accumulated in your military career. However, this is more challenging to prove/earn. On the other hand, you can also earn credit for military courses and instruction. For example, I earned many credits towards my Community College of the Air Force Associates Degree, as well as towards my bachelor’s degree through AMU. If I really look at it from this perspective, I started my degree program the day I started Bootcamp.
In reality, though, I enrolled at AMU in 2004. I have taken classes here and there, but promotion testing and duty assignment changes have complicated things somewhat. With only 6 classes remaining, I am almost there.
