I have always enjoyed studying nature.

These are the science fields and concepts I would like to work on during my career. I am always adding to and never culling it, so I will probably have to make sacrifices along the way :(.
- A practical way to store electrical energy so an ‘electron economy’ is possible. I would also like to work on the hydrogen economy project, but if we can develop an electron economy instead it just cuts out the middle-man so to speak.
- Advance our knowledge of, and find practical applications for, stem cells. This mainly involves medical applications and I’d like to see things such as transplants, transfusions, biomachines, etc obsolescent (not a grudge or anything lol just want to cut out the middleman and go to the root of the problem and do everything from the biological base). One idea (rather romantic/idealistic!) I had was to open an organ bank whereby at least one of each organ is held for each person and include it as part of health insurance.
- Establish a space program here in Australia. I know our government would never provide that kind of funding but it is worth a try. And if not I might follow the footsteps of the inspirational Elon Musk and establish a for-profit space enterprise and have like discounts and subsidies for research-based ventures while also establishing space tourism.
- Find a way to measure internal energy (delta U). This goal was just from my incredible annoyance one day in Thermo class having failed the exam… not too serious about this goal =P.
- Shoot down Intelligent Design. Not much to say here and even if I did I don’t want to offend anyone. It is pretty self-explanatory.
There are others but I can’t fit them all in in time! Must be off to work.
Even though I am in first year engineering and just turned 18, inside I am still the little kid jumping up and down excited about the great possibilities in life =).
I want to become a scientist and find atleast a thing useful for the world as whole.
I loved science throughout High School (I did all three: Chemistry, Physics and Biology). I am doing Engineering in Uni this year but I am thinking of dualling it with Science.
I question a lot of things and like to test to find answers. I even made my own theory about matter (along the times of there is really no such thing as matter: matter is just really really really dense energy to the scale of 1g = 9×10^18J). I also had another theory which I came up with after learning quantum physics in Year 12, that being quantum memory processes in neurons in your nervous system and quantum links being the “thought” processes of your brain.
I do a lot of independent research into science as well and regularly surf the web and learn about different fields.
And yes, I am a geek/nerd to the max =P but I love it. I still find time to go out with friends and have a good time, so I am happy with how things are =)

I have interests in chemistry, biology and psysics…i am geek, geek am i.
Don’t know if i could actualy be a scientist…i might try in the kitchen, garage and bathroom…
...is the best way to learn more about the world we live in. That is why I want to study for a living.
Prepare for college. Must be able to focus in class all day and study all night (study 2 hrs for every 1 hr spent in class). Minimize social needs.
Start with community college. Get to the college level in Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics. Possibly take required undergrad classes such as English and history. Then transfer to a university.
Decide on a major. To explore the major you have in mind, ask people who have that major aboud it and do a lot of volunteering in that field.
Possible majors: neuroscience, biochemistry/organic chemistry, biotechnology, bioengineering, environmentalist
Possible colleges: Universtity of Iowa, UCSD, UC Berkeley
