We’ve reached our goal! Between my recent work payment and M’s tax refund, we’ve finally been pushed over our financial finish line! This includes the $ envelope waiting to be added to a new TFSA (but not the funds I still have in Kiva projects, RRSP’s or US cash from our last trip), and we’ve set up a monthly plan to keep adding to our savings. O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

Now if we could just find the right little place to make a downpayment on…12 months ago

Slowly but surely. I’ve had steadier projects lately, meaning more into the proverbial kitty. We’ve had a couple of emergencies, but have returned the funds promptly.

I also discovered there was more in a dormant account (at a bank I haven’t used for 2 years) than I thought, so if we throw that in and consider the refunded Kiva loans and PayPal account, all the dribs and drabs have probably pushed it over already. Feeling great about this. Hopeful we can put it to use in the next year. 15 months ago

I want our nest egg to match the pre-inheritance offered to us to use towards a house downpayment when we decide to buy (the Big Dream). This has been an unstated financial goal for a long time now, and I deposit everything I can.

This savings doubles as our emergency fund, so when we had to replace the car it took a substantial dip, but we recently replaced that after receiving our tax refund, so we’re back to moving in the right direction again.

About 85% there. 21 months ago
