Emigrate to Mexico from America. 2 years ago

Is it possible to drive into / through Mexico as a tourist with a car full of household stuff? Can one drive through into Central and South America? What paperwork (etc.) might one need to do so?

Or an emigration attorney - whichever 2 years ago

I think what we’re after…eventually…may be an E2 visa. That’s the business investment visa. However, we really do need to have at least an initial word with someone to be absolutely sure of the ins and outs and what’s possible. And whether there’s any other kind of visa we might try for.

Now, our absolute ideal would of course be…
    - someone with a proven track record of getting the job done – ideally someone recommended to us by successful emigrĂ©s (except we don’t know any)
    - someone who lives in the area (ie Seattle) and knows the territory
    - someone who can work long-distance, as getting over there is, um, a little difficult for us
    - and…and this is really pushing it….a British ex-pat who’s made the move themselves would be ideal. (Except that I’m guessing a qualified attorney wouldn’t have nearly as much trouble getting into the US anyway, but whatever…)

I know, I know, we should have sorted this when we were over there but, as I said, just walking into an attorney’s office without some kind of personal recommendation from someone sounds a little bit like stabbing a pin into a map in the dark.

    Any clues, anyone?
