I haven’t done a proper stage magic show since last year and I miss it so. I could use lots of excuses, but I just haven’t got my arse in gear.
I should start planning a new show, and having seen Derren Brown a few weeks ago, I know how rewarding it can be.

I was a member of the Vagina Monologues here at my school. Totally worth the rush and thrill of being on stage again. Duplicating that in any other aspect of life is nearly impossible. Feeding off the energy of the crowd, your emotions, the character. I want to do it again but time is a constraint. This show was perfect because it didn’t require a huge time commitment.

once a thespian, always a thespian.
there’s promises that they’re doing another production and i’ll be able to step foot on-stage again! here’s to hoping!

I’ve grudgingly agreed to participate in this year’s talent show. The proceeds go to a student group in which I hold a leadership position… and I’m paying some heavy dues here.
The repertoire for tomorrow night: covers of “I will follow you into the dark” by Death Cab for Cutie, and “The sweater song” by Weezer.
I’m looking forward to it, but I’m still nervous. I’m reminded of that old Taoist story about the archer. The master archer could hit a target of any size while alone in the wood. His friends goaded him to enter a contest. When the prize was wood, he began to sweat. When he advanced and the prize was marble, he trembled. When he advanced again, the final prize was gold. He trembled and swayed like tall grass on a blustery day. And so, although the feat never changed, the archer did.
Oh no, it go
It gone, bye-bye…bye
Who I, I think
I sink, and I die.

A local theatre company is putting on Seusical (spelling?!), and the auditions are THIS weekend! A friend an I are going together. And while I don’t really expect to get a part, at least I’ll get a feel for the people who get involved with this locally, and maybe sign up to help out with the million things that need to be done to make a show ready to be on stage! :)

I want to start a theatre company. But it takes money. Lots of money. I’m trying to figure out a way to get ‘er going, without having to fork over a ton of my OWN money (which I currently dont have).
Any suggestions???

I did the obligatory high school productions, and was in Comedy Sportz and a few other improv groups over the years. The big problem for me is time. The huge time investment is something of an absolute bar for me. But as soon as I get the hell out of law school and can structure my free time a bit more, I’m going to find something on the stage. It’s the best damn feeling in the world.

I was in Grease in high school, and I had a great time. I’ve been looking for a local theatre group . . . but I’m not having much luck . . . except for the Trent production companies, but you have to be a Trent student. Its very frustrating!
