On Saturday I told my student’s mom that her haircut was “super cute!”
I also told my student herself that I’m proud of her, and praised her for being so creative.
Before that, on Friday, I told my boyfriend that he’s made a tremendous amount of progress just in the time between his first practice teaching run and his second.

I think it’s a good thing to be doing, especially for building my people skills :)
Today I told my boyfriend that he showed an amazing amount of progress in his practice teaching.

OK, so lets get specific. This is something that I believe would be good to have as a natural reflex; to automatically speak up and compliment someone when an honest opportunity arises.
Being aware of doing it is just as important as doing it. I know that I already compliment others, but I don’t really know how much I do it. There have been people who have complimented me extensively in an insincere way. It actually gets to be unpleasant after awhile. Because of this, I think I tend to be frugal with my own compliments to others.
So I will set a simple goal of being aware of complimenting my wife twice a day for one week, and consciously look for things to compliment.

This is a no-brainer.
- It ties well into my goal of talk to more people.
- It gives both of us a warm fuzzy feeling.
- I get more compliments from others.

It’s great when you see the others’ surprised smile. And their desperate trying to compliment u back… But there’s no need. You already feel better. Cos doing something nice for another is rewarding enough. And compliments are free…
