A Girl in the Curl is making some tough decisions
I’m frustrated to find that smiling has either been interpreted as ‘I’m an idiot’ or ‘I want you’
I guess non-verbal communication isn’t something this part of the country excells in.
Even my patients are used to people being rude to them…to smile and make eye-contact, or touch their shoulder and ask if they need anything is somehow interpreted as “I’m about to get lucky”
it makes me want to put my mala beads down and kick the snot out of someone.
but instead, I smile and say “I’m only doing my job…it’s what I do…don’t flatter yourself“
