How I did it: I was on holiday in York with my boyfriend shopping in the Shambles and we came across one of many souvenir shops which sold medieval/gothic/fantasy type things - one of which was swords. We both got extremely excited and the short swords were being sold cheaper in pairs so we bought one each - they're only small cheap ones of course, but they are REAL LIVE swords - within about ten minutes of getting back to the hotel my boyfriend had an injury from accidentally brushing his hand against one of them!
They're totally awesome, I love them! Though they have stayed in their boxes so far as we're afraid of more injury and have yet to invest in display stands.
I also run for them whenever I hear a suspicious noise in the house and think we're under attack...
