Right, I now drive to Uni and back which makes it a little bit easier for me time-wise. I’ve still got the gym by the station in the back of my mind however. At least with driving in I can leave stuff in the boot of my car and then go when I finish the day.
My next obstacle was then finding somewhere to park but I realised I can park at generic supermarket next door for up to three hours so that’s that problem sorted.
Where I’ll be working twice as much in the new year as well I reckon I can afford to do £10 a month so I’m going to look into it.

How I did it: 1) Suscribed to the University's gym2) Bought some small weights, to work out just a little bit at homethe number after 2) Jogged, for fun, listening to badass music, Rammstein and such.4, I suspect) Remember that some really stupid guys I know got ripped. How I did it: 1. Bought a mini elliptical machine for $90 on Amazon to be my exercise of last resort: even if I don't want to go outside or make it to the gym. Set up my computer on a bookshelf in front of the elliptical to use while doing the elliptical, watch hulu, etc. 2. Restarted weight-lifting following the program in the book _New rules of lifting for women_.3. Participated in Spark People, which gives me … Read how I did it…
How I did it: my employer started a program that gave incentives for physical activity, so that pushed me to do more. Also, once I got in the habit it got easier. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I set myself several goals like run a 10k, lose 30lbs, run a half marathon. One I had set myself these targets I had no choice than to exercise more. Now I'm set on this health kick I feel withdrawl symptoms and frustrated when I can't get to the gym. I’m trying to take the stairs more often! :P
Catheleyne is confused. should i take the position in NY or not?
.. for 2,5 months as the pool closed for winter..
but this week i have been to the indoor pool already twice!! finally! and its great to swim…. i swim for an hour… thats enough, i think. as a start.
now i should keep up with this habit for say… 3 times a week.
i cant seem to find time to go to the gym, but i can find time to sit on my ass for about 3 to 4 hours watching tv often.
I find it funny that this goal is on thousands of lists. It’s good to know that I’m not alone!
The most embarrassing part of this goal is that I’m armed with all the right tools to do it and I have NO excuses for not achieving it. I have a gym membership, have the time to work out and am in decent average shape (fat skinny person).
Obstacles to this goal:
- I get bored easily
- I get slightly self-conscious while working out (I especially hate it when people come over and try to impart their expert knowledge. I know they mean well, but dude, I’m just happy that I’m at the gym at all.)
- I have this silly mindset that I smoke, hence I should quit first then exercise (yeah, I know)
To do:
- sign up for a small reformer-based pilates class
- go for a yoga class once a week
- find a cardio machine I like
- quit smoking
Here goes nothing.

I want to start exercise at gym. So, How to start my work & get it done? Can anybody help me?
Exercise was somehow easier when I was active on sports teams (something about a coach shouting at you to do more laps but at least it got done!) Similar situation but now I need to get myself moving. Best go and buy a good set of running shoes, me thinks?
I’ve been doing this aerobics class twice a week with my mom since I’ve been home. The first time I went, I was skeptical, as its a class run by an older lady. But, surprisingly, it’s a very intense workout. One hour of aerobics using a step and lifting weights. I’m moving away this week and will miss the workouts with my mom! I hope she sticks with it.
I feel great afterwards, though I really have got to start eating more as I’ve gotten sooooo skinny. High metabolism + aerobics = stick figure.
Rpluz has read through the book and is working on her list.
For the first time this week I did a mile of walking at work. It felt good to do it too. I feel stronger, more confident. Now I just need to keep it up.
