teach myself to knit

Yay! so I got a how-to knit book today… my goal is to knit a scarf for my sister by her birthday (2 months from now)... wish me luck!

It’s cool to be able to make something then wear it, or give as gifts!!! just buy a nice knitting book with a lot of colored pictures, or visit a knitting store, they will help you

I couldn’t figure out how to get started on my own, so I signed up for a basics class at a local crafts store. Once I had the basics down, everything else made sense. I have been able to teach myself lots of other advanced techniques, but needed help to get started.

and Stitch and Bitch was all I needed! I tried to teach myself to knit for the longest time using websites and other books, and I never got it. I picked up Stitch and Bitch from my library and was knitting that very day! I’m currently working on a sweet blanket for my friend who is expecting. I’m on skein #3, and I have 1 1/2 months left to go…think I can do it? I hope so!

and somewhat addictive

Taught myself to knit less than a year ago. I’ve made a couple of scarves, baby blankets, two shawls, bags and am working on a sweater.
