my number today!
How I did it: There is no better way to enjoy the 4th of July than running in Atlanta's Peachtree Road Race. It's the largest 10K in the world with 55,000 participants. I've run this event 7 times and really enjoyed it. It's very exciting. It's also very hot, extremely humid, and very hilly. Getting that shirt at Piedmont Park makes it all worthwhile. And having people line the streets cheering for you along the way is the best!! Afterwards some hot dogs at The Varsity, a raft trip down the Chattahooche River, and the fireworks show at Stone Mountain make for an unbeatable 4th of July - the best!!
Lessons & tips: Send your entry form back the day you get it or you won't get it.

You get much more than just a shirt. No one else I knew ran it, but everyone was impressed that I did. It motivated me to keep going to the gym and watch what I ate. Now people want to run next year because if I can do it, anyone can.

Worst time ever and I hurt all over, but it just wouldn’t feel like the 4th of July anymore without it.
Damn, I really need to exercise more (it’s on the list).
I did it when 39 minutes was about one thousand as a place fo finish. NOw it is about 200th
Well, I moved to Atlanta in 1995 and for the next 8 years I always wanted to run the Peachtree. I was either too hungover, too unmotivated, or working on the 4th of July so it just never happened.
Having joined the Army in 2003 I guess my luck finally came to fruition when I got deployed to Kuwait and have now found that they have a Peachtree Road Race here at Camp Arifjan so on July 4th I’ll finally be running the Peachtree. I know I’m in the Army but out of shape for a race like this, but I know I’ll complete it!
At 49 years of age, I decided to do the Peachtree Road Race. I have never been the running type but one only turns 50 once! That was in 1999. I will be completing my 8th Peachtree on July 4th! My goal is to do at least 10! My advice is to set goals in your life and go for it!
See you at the Peachtree!
The Peachtree is a fun race to run with lots of spectators. I enjoy running this race. The big problem is people lie about their times so you have to go around people a lot. Also, run towards the sides because less people run on the side. When stopping at a water station, pick the one on the left side. Most people are right handed, so they tend to go towards that side. The result is the stations on the right are more crowded.

Began running this week. Started with a 20 minute run, 20 minute walk, 20 minute run. I only went 2 miles, but we all have to start somewhere. I am working a run into my regular exercise routine, so I will now be running about 6 days a week.
my goal is a sub 7 min mile. I’m training very hard speed, hills, and wieghts.as well as mentally running the race when to relax and when to kick it
