Found an all you can eat sushi place in Sudbury today!! Lower quality but great prices. Considering I only eat the vegetarian having a little less rice per dish is fine when you can order 2 or 3 dishes.

How I did it: When I visited Okinawa, an island off of Japan the first time I had sushi was at a sushi bar with a conveyor belt. I was actually quite disappointed. There wasn't much variety and it was not very fresh. When my mother and I traveled to another hotel in northern Okinawa, we ate at the sushi restaurant there and it was by far the best sushi I've ever had. I've never had that fresh of fish before and I'll never forget that experience. Read how I did it…

This is something I do all the time. My favorites are uni (sea urchin) and toro (fatty tuna underbelly). Unfortunately, they are also a couple of the most expensive items. I lived in Tokyo for many years, but I am now living in Hawaii where the Hawaiian version of sushi is an abomination (Ever try SPAM sushi? What are they thinking?). I still manage to get back to Tokyo at least twice a year, and may move back for good soon. Here is a shot of a sashimi platter with hamachi (yellow tail), shake (salmon), aji (herring?), amaebi (sweet shrimp), ika (squid), tako (octopus), kaibashira (scallops), and maguro (tuna).

Perhaps I should add learn to speak/read Japanese to my list.
When you go to a country that enjoys its seafood and is obsessive about quality (and has the money to pay for what it wants), the fish has to be good. It’s not always cheap, but the taste is worth the plane ride.

i’ve had sushi in both a tradition style Sushi-ya and a cheaper “Kaitenzushi” place. if you’re low on cash, go to kaitenzushi! it’s just a good and maybe a little more fun because they come on conveyer belts and you just pick up what you want! best of all, there are so many types of sushi everyone is bound to be happy!
not sure if it really counts though – it was really darn good though!

A few summers ago, I had sushi in Hokkaido. That stuff is so incredibly yummy. Would be sad if I had to go without it.
