Des is slowly regaining her sanity (unfortunately?)
I did an email newsletter instead of a paper one. I will still have to do the paper one sooner or later. Later, actually.

I have another newsletter coming up soon. Ugh! It’s such a big job. I’ll have to break it down into tasks again. But not tonight… errr… this morning.

It feels good to have this done. I spent much of yesterday folding, stickering, stamping, labeling, and mailing. Today all I have to do is drop off some non-stamped newsletters in a mailroom and sort them into their proper cubbies, and then I’ll be 100% done. But I’m marking it off now!

I haven’t taken it in for printing yet, but it’s done and it’s very good, if I do say so myself. I decided to stay up for a few extra hours last night (I got to bed after 5 a.m.) and add two more pages that really add a lot of valuable content to the newsletter. It’s also very pretty. :)

I really have a mental resistance against finishing this newsletter if I’d rather go exercise than work on it.

I should have done this last week but I’ve been very busy. I meant to spend today on this, but I had a soccer game and then I came home and took a long and much-needed nap. But I’ve been procrastinating this for 3 hours now. It’s a big job and it’s feeling overwhelming, plus my perfectionism-driven fear is kicking in. So I need to break this down.
1. Collect a list of articles/features. Fortunately this is halfway done already. Timeline: Done
2. Prioritize and start writing them one at a time. (Obviously this is the big one.) Timeline: Done
3. As they get done, put the articles out for proofreading and approval by the board if necessary. Timeline: Done
4. Download photos from camera. Timeline: Done
5. Lay out the articles while I’m waiting for approvals. Check to make sure every article made it in this time! Timeline: Done!
6. Do edits as they come in. Timeline: Done
7. Put the initial draft out for approval. Timeline: Done
8. Do some more edits, which there will most certainly be, then put the final version out for approval. Timeline: Thursday
9. Print and take in for duplicating. Timeline: Friday morning
10. Fidget until it comes back, watching the calendar and worrying that it won’t go out in time. Buy stamps, buy perforated stickers, collect the mailing labels from the membership person. Timeline: next week
11. Sticker, stamp, and label. Timeline: hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday
12. Mail! Timeline: hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday
