I’ve been keeping an electronic food diary most of the time for 16 1/2 years. It’s the only good way I know of to lose and maintain weight. I wish my program (LifeForm) had a place near each meal to write a note about my mood or how I reacted to the food.
It would be great if I could search meals from the past by ingredient. I can save meals into a food database and search them by title. Anyway, wishes aside, I’m grateful to have what I have. When I started this on October 2, 1996, I weighed 146 pounds. Now I weigh 115.2. That is a great success, not only that I’ve lost weight, but that I’ve kept it off for so long. I plan to do that for life. Comment if you have a success story of your own or if you are inspired by this one.

I’m using the MyNetDiary app to track my food. I wanted to start out just tracking and not being really stringent on my eating, so I can compare my usual to the changes. It will also give me a good look at my weaknesses and how much my poor eating affects me. It’s hard not to make some changes, and I have, even though that wasn’t my intention. It’s all for the best though. I’m on Day 2 now. Let’s see how many I can string together. 4 months ago

Keeping a food diary has been my biggest aid to weight loss and maintenance. I am now keeping an electronic food diary in LifeForm and a written food diary for the Institute for Integrative Nutrition®, where I’m going to school. 5 months ago

Now, it’s time to admit that I’m just not going to continue for now. 7 months ago

I’ve been keeping a food diary for about two months now. To be honest I found it a bit boring. I can undertstand how it would help some people in their quest to lose weight but it really wasn’t for me.
It was good in that it helped me notice when I was eating certain “bad things” and it also showed me that I scarily eat almost the same foods every week at the same times.
I am going to try and vary what I have now for my main meals each week and maybe try a vegetarian option once a week.
I’m marking this as done for now. I might put it back on at a later date. 7 months ago

I’ll skip writing a meal here and a meal there. Overall, I think I’m still mostly sticking to my calorie goals, but I’ve found in the past that if I don’t write it down, I tend to underestimate what I eat. 8 months ago

I’ve decided I am going to treat myself to one of those academic year diaries so I can use it to keep a track of what food I eat. What I have noticed over the last few weeks since having ago at this goal is that what I do eat is not overly bad but it’s not overly good either. Think i’m a bit stuck in the midldle and tend to eat alot of the same meals. When I start filling my book in i’m going to vary my food and try new things. I’m also going to try and get my five a day in everyday.

I spent the last 3 Days in London so with all the rushing about and seeing different things eating set meals wasn’t really on the agenda. I had proper English Fish And Chips on Wednesday evening and they were gorgeous.
Been really good so far today though.
Breakfast: Ready Brek
Lunch: One Sausage Sandwich.
I go back to work on Monday. Routine is easier then so will start again with this then. 9 months ago

I’m using the MyNetDiary app and website to track my food. I was using it about a month ago and doing well but quit. Typical. Finally started back up again for a whopping 2131 calories today. Not my worst, but not good. To lose a pound and a half a week, I need to stay at 1699 or exercise to make up the difference. I did a little of that today but am still over. Change won’t be happening from this day’s food. 9 months ago
