I own a dachshund and she is my baby! They are a nightmare to potty train (or housebreak). She (Roxy) is finally potty trained after a year and a half of peeing on every inch of my carpet! Resolve works the best for this by the way. I’m not sure if all dachshunds are loveable but mine follows me around the house and cuddles with me all the time. I would recommend a dachshund if you have alot of patience to deal with their stubborn nature.

Well, she really owns me 23 months ago

I thought I was a cat person but that was before I lived with dachshunds. They completely won me over and now I have my own darling mini girl. I would love to get a brother or sister for her, but it’s so hard to find a place to rent here that will allow even one pet. Definitely one of my goals though!

I have 2 dachshunds. One is male and one is female. They are the funniest little things ever. The female is a black and tan and the male is a dapple. Their names are Mercedes And Harley (we don’t like automobiles or anything lol). They are wonderful with children and are very entertaining pets. I have found they are hard to train but hey if you don’t mind cleaning up after them I say it is definitely worth it :)

    Finally! 2 years ago

After many years of waiting, I finally have my dachshunds!

When I was a little kid, we had a miniature dachshund. He was almost eleven when I was born and died when I was eight, just short of his nineteenth birthday. To this day my family still mourns him and remembers all the happy times we had with him. He was a sweet dog, a loyal dog, and a very tough dog (survived a rattlesnake bite, an entire chocolate cake, and a bout of pancreatitis…he also got off his leash and outran my dad when he was about fourteen or fifteen). He was purebred but could never be a showdog because he had minor defects (like buck teeth and a few other things that were not noticeable to the average person), but he made a wonderful pet, and I would love to own a dachshund again!

So worth it! 3 years ago

I’ve had Snoopy Valentino for 14 yrs and and they’ve been the best ever!
Hes intelligent, moody, greedy and absolutely adorable. Must must get a weiner dog to experience true happiness – I still am!

Pricilla the Meanie Weanie 3 years ago

For immeasurable hours of fun and entertainment get one ASAP! But be sure you have another dog to play along. These dogs need playmates. They are full of energy and just love life. Watching these little guys run and hop is just plain funny! My little Pricilla recently nick named the “Meanie Weanie” beats up my Italian greyhound all day long. He is twice her size and use to rule the roost picking on my Chihuaha until she would hide an cower in the corner. Well no more, there is a NEW SHERIFF in town. She is little and mean, and she ain’t taken no $H!T
