Becca I think my goals need to be more specific
How I did it: There are a few things you can do to help yourself become a morning person. For me, the most critical component was lots of exposure to early morning sunlight. I'm currently using sheers to filter the sunshine as opposed to blackout curtains that completely obliterate it, and my body just responds to that, with minimal effort on my part. I no longer need to have a morning cup of tea to give me an energy boost first thing. And, due to the … Read how I did it…

How I did it: I made up a curfew for myself, slept at that said time, and with enough sleep, I was able to wake up when the alarm went off. It helped that I had a job that forced me to wake up at those hours too. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used to not think about getting up in the morning. I would just convince my muscles that I had to get up now, or else (insert bad experience here)!I also thought about the good things that I was gonna be doing that day. It helped put me in a good mood for the rest of the morning. Also, I would eat a breakfast that was rich in variety; like bran, with 4 different types of fruit. I would wanna get out of bed for the every morning… Read how I did it…

This is just what I needed. I will start off by saying I am always up by 8a, no alarm clock needed… but after becoming a mom and having to be up by that time, it’s not near as enjoyable. Sure she’s great(not always so much first thing in the morning) but there’s no easing into your morning. I don’t like talking right away, I become easily annoyed with my significant other, and just feel down right groggy. I have many a thing to look forward to in the morning, i.e. coffee, shower, talking about news and such with my partner. I just need that positive light and energy like I used to have. I must agree with Ash that once it’s mandatory it’s just not the same. So here I begin…
KatsLovinLife is hopeful for a great 2009!
I just had a 3 days weekend and I feel like it flew by and I got very little accomplished because I slept til 12-1pm everyday. Sleeping in not only wastes the time that I am sleeping, it also wastes the hours afterward that I’m groggy from oversleeping. I’d love to get more useful time in my day.
Well – I tried tried tried and failed.
Finally I changed my job and my current firm requires me to check-in by 10 AM – so I get up at something like 7ish.
Do I have a choice ? :-)
But I am happy now that I get up early.
Cheers.
When I set my mind to something, I’m generally able to accomplish it. I will be doing a lot of Ironman training soon, so I wanted to get used to waking up early so I can exercise once before work and once after. It has been 4 days so far of getting up at 5am (including Saturday) and I’m doing well.
i love mornings, the smells, n everything..but i couldnt wka up early!it sux!!!!i usually woke up 11am onwards (if i dont have class or sumthing important)..i know being a morning person is good, u got more time, more task would be completed..but why is it so hard? i sometimes sleep early to wake up early, but its just another failure…
The worst thing about being a night person is the fact that YOU ALWAYS FEEL LIKE THE DAY ENDED TOO SOON. Waking up at 12PM instead of 6AM means that you lose 6 whole hours of daytime… yeah that sucks. Need to get out of the habit asap, and start watching sunrises! ;O
I managed it for about two months! I had a goal or something to do – get in my swimsuit and onto my balcony for the hour of sun that hits it. Dumb, I know, but man am I tan now. Anyway, it didn’t take much effort so it was easy to do, but I had SOMETHING to go do so I would get out of bed to do it.
Once I got tan, though, it stopped feeling like I needed to do it and my schedule is messed up once again. At least now I know I can do it! I just need to find a new easy goal.
I am new to this 43 things and the first thing im going to do is tackle morings ..so we will see!
