How to have my bellybutton pierced

How I did it: THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW: The first words that should come out of your mouth when you walk into a piercing salon should be, "Do you have an autoclave?" An autoclave is a high-temperature oven that is used to sterilize tools so that there is no chance of cross-contamination. It is very, very possible to contract a disease through piercing, and sterilization of the piercing instruments is absolutely vital.
Also, ask to see what tools are used (the needle, the clamp, etc.) and make sure what isn't single-use and pre-packaged is always sterilized in the autoclave first. Piercing fees often don't include jewelry, or the piercing jewelry is very basic (stainless steel without gems), so if you'd like a silver bar with a pretty gem, etc., ask what the cost of the jewelry is and if you can be pierced with a particular barbell.
I got this done when I was 17 and now it's one of my favorite piercings. But be careful, because piercing can be addictive! Happy piercing!

i got my belly button pierced about a month ago. and it was kind of random. i mean i always wanted it done but the moment to go get it done was random. however, i decided to get it done. it hardly hurt and i feel like a dousche, cuz i thought i was gon die. :] its totally cute and i dont regret it at all.

So I got it pierced … but it was by my friend, so it was all icky and wrong xD So I let it close up. But it was fun while it lasted.

i got mine done a year ago and its been the easiest peircing to take care of and to have overall. it’s been a breeze and it looks amazing

Not many people know I have my bellybutton pierced (had it repierced on August 2006)... it’s just one of those little secrets that only I know about. :)

Its just a pinch and it’s over really quick. And if you don’t like it you can always take it out. Hey you only live once.

it was a right of passage when I had my last child in my 30’s. Didnt hurt and I realize I am older than most but what the heck—I did it and dont regret it at all.
