become a successful journalist

I already have two associate degree from County College of Morris but I’m not passionate about those fields. I’ve had some trouble in the past with heroin addiction, but I’m finally standing on my own two feet and I’ve found my passion, . . .writing. I really want to work for a newpapers foreign office, not only do I get to do what I want but also to see the world. So anyways I had my first class today and I couldn’t be more excited. On Wednesday I will be attending a meeting of the school newspaper and we’ll we if i can my find my niche. Finally I’ve found something that I really want.

One weeks’ work experience at a local paper recently… plus a two week stint at a national. Which resulted in a byline on a two page spread on Tony Blair. The glow (and accompanying grin) when seeing my name in print was indescribable. Now, just have to launch a steady and focused plan of attack on getting PAID to write (and think of ideas).

But first, my knee.

last exam in my journalism course next week (pre-emptive woopee!) which is what I should be studying for instead of writing entries on 43things.com…
