So, this year in the garden I am growing 2 varieties of cucumbers. One is for salads and one is for pickling. I have NEVER pickled anything so I might need some advice. Anyone have any instruction/recipes?

Acco3 is feeling blue due to rainny season.
Took more than 3 hours to peel and cut them out in two days(I asked my boys to help me out but they run awaaaaay …..). Peeling is the hardest part so I’m very happy to finish it. Good job me!

Mom sent me a lot of rakkyo and i need to peel them and cut them. I’ve done 1/3 of them. It’s a long way.
In my seed order there was a packet of pickling cucumber seeds too. I still need to do some research on the pickling part (goed to watch Good Eats). :D

I had the greatest time doing this with my friends. Add a few bottles of wine and its even better!!

ambler I'll rest when I'm dead
I grew my own cucumbers and then made about 12 pints of each kind. The Slippery Jacks are from an old family recipe and have a unique look and flavor that took me back to my childhood. Now almost a year later I still have a couple of jars left and I get a great deal of satisfaction that they are so good and that I made them….
Here’s hoping this years’ cucumber crop is better than last.

Considering growing green beans in my container(s) garden this year, just expressly so I could pickle them. Of course, if I do that, I should plant a very small pot of dill as well – and maybe some garlic…
I’d love to do this with okra, but there’s no way I could maintain enough individual plants in containers to have a sufficient crop at one time for pickling purposes.

Summer’s all but over. If I’m going to make pickles of some kind, I need to get on it – or set this aside until next year.
