Make myself a Harry Potter school uniform

I’m going to do it for the next Harry Potter movie or for Purim next year.

Well, it’s not perfect, but I think I can check this off my list. On Friday, the book release day, I decided at the last minute that I wanted to dress up in costume, so I went to about 4 or 5 different thrift stores and put together an outfit. I’ll work on improving it, but I think I did pretty well for doing it in a period of about four hours.

I’ve decided that I’m going to be a Harry Potter character for Halloween this year because it’s a costume I can wear while teaching, and besides, I love the books.

I decided to dress up as a cute little hogwarts girl for the movie and the book release party. I have never been to a release party, so i figured I woud go this year. =] I am extremely excited and they will be having a costume contest at the release party so that should be pretty spiff. =]
I know for sure I don’t want to look exactly like they do in the movie, i want to be a more… me version… ya know?
I have a gryffindor tank top and a gryffindor bag. I just ordered a tie and a patch. I’m looking for a short black pleated skirt and a cute fitted summer sweater for my patch.
Not exactly sure how I will do things yet but i think i want my hair down, curled with gold and crimson ribbon. not sure about the shoes yet, i’m not too into the mary janes. lol
I am also looking for a maroon sweatervest to put the patch on and wear a white long sleeved button up underneath… but who knows.
I will def. post pics once i get my perfect outfit together!!!! =D
