TheGoldenGolem is feeling better...
But my old clothes ammounted in our (previous) catch-all room, I gathered them and all my unwanted stuff and took it to goodwill. I feel good about it, and we have another room in the house!!

How I did it: I just looked at it like I was helping a friend weed through her clothes and old things, then put it all in a black trash bag so I coudn't look at it, and put it in my car. I procrastinated three days before taking it all to goodwill but it was very worth it, and the house is more clutter free! I am also happy becuse new clothes are always great, and wanting to fit into skinny jeans or saving your bigger clothes is discouraging. Buy cloth… Read how I did it…

Little sis’ just swept away the bags of clothes for dad’s garage sale tomorrow, and anything not sold will go to charity. Ahhhhh, it feels good to get it out of the house for good.
I went through all my clothes today, trying them all on as if I was considering them brand new. It was pretty fun, actually—I turned out some good music and danced in front of the mirror. I ended up with several bags full of clothes to donate.
Before I drop them off, I want to log everything that I’m taking in. Doing my taxes this year, I wished I had done that to have a better idea what I had donated. So this year, I want to be prepared.
wellonheels is. She just is.
I have to let go of things that don’t fit—I keep hanging onto them thinking “they’ll fit again someday”, but by then they’ll be out of style anyways. I want to go through my closet and weed out the bad stuff – when I find the time to try them all on!
I’ve had a running pile of clothes to give to charity, but I think it’s time to go through everything I own, try it all on like I just got it (esp. things I haven’t worn in a long time), and if it doesn’t fit or if I don’t completely love it, it needs to go.
carabou set a pirate ship cake out to sail. Arrrr!
Besides making two or three cakes every night, five days a week, we’re not allowed (health code) to take them out of the building. So I’m nibbling on four slices of cake every night, doused in alcohol, frosted with buttercream.
I have reached buttercream critical mass. It’s called 15 additional pounds that I gained in LESS than FIVE MONTHS!. NONE of my clothes fit right now (except for the drawstring-wasteband pants I wear to cooking school. Think they planned that?)
This goal is on hiatus until I lose those friggin’ 15 pounds. Even my fat is starting to feel fat. Eww.
Tink is pleased with her progress.
Took several items in to the office and left them in the bin.
Still probably have more clothes than I legitimately need.

...and donate the “deletions.”
Where I work, we’re currently having a clothing drive for a shelter that helps homeless young people get off the streets. Apparently there’s a dire need for businesslike clothing that 16- to 24-year-olds could wear (a) to a job interview and (b) to work once they get a job. I gather that much of the clothing that does get donated to such shelters is inappropriate for those purposes.
I have quite a few skirts, dresses, and the like that don’t currently fit me. And meanwhile I also have more than enough clothes to tide me over in my own life as I work toward losing some weight. Once I’ve gotten to my goal weight, I can have these clothes altered to fit and/or treat myself to some new items.
There’s a charity clothing drop-off box in the laundry room of the building I live in, and I’ve donated numerous items that way, but given that my co-workers (several of whom have volunteered at the youth shelter in question) have specifically asked for this type of donation, I’m planning to spend some time tonight gathering up whatever I can to bring in to work tomorrow.
It can be a way to help someone, or a way to reduce what goes into the landfill so it makes decisions a lot easier when it comes to getting rid of clothes that don’t fit.
