Panda and I have been scoping out new places for our walks.
First, I found a map of Sequoia Park online (kinda cool this Eureka Trails site, there should be more of them though)... it’s a little forest park in the middle of town. I’ve been to the zoo and playground parts. But never walking the trails through the trees. It’s pretty close to our house, so I thought there must be some way to enter a trail from this side of the park. And the map showed me a spot, only 6 blocks from home. We checked it out last week and it was pretty neato. Score!
Today I needed to go down town for some art supplies, so we walked along the waterfront. Right where the blues festival was a couple weeks ago. From the Adorni Center there’s a paved walk along the water, goes past the bridge a little ways. We did enter homeless garbage land a little bit, but overall a pretty little walk.
Woo! lookit us!

Farmers Market
happens right down the street every Thursday. I’ve lived here over a year and have never walked down to it. Maybe today is the big day. I was lamenting the crappy cherries I bought at the store yesterday… I’ll bet there are some at the market. One way to find out.

Not 10 miles from where I live there is a moor and I didn`t know! Just discovered it today, and although it looked more like a very wet forest to me, I was quite impressed!

Walked around Lake Merced, a body of water I’ve only ever passed in a bus/other wheeled vehicle, and finally figured out just where it was relative to other places that I actually know, which is always awesome.

Yesterday I got off the subway a station earlier than I need to – I do that from time to time, but then I always walk the same way home. This was the first time I took a different path – and discovered some new things – great graffiti on a parking lot, a garden colony and a soccer field. I never knew these, and they´re so close to where I live ;-)

called Tartine
It´s situated in a really nice neighborhood, the West of Karlsruhe, with lots of impressive buildings from around 1900. Very nice :-)

this time to the north of Karlsruhe. We discovered another lake to swim in and a beautiful national park.
Then we rode down to the river Rhine and back home via a dike with a bike trail on top. It was fun :-)
