I'm fine 15 months ago

I went to the doctor because I felt that everyday I was struggling with my daily activities, I felt really sleepy, althogh I slept a lot (I am geting to work really late everyday, just because I keep sleeping) I felt I needed to do something for myself and went to see a doctor (at last!)

I told the physician about my sleepiness, about my sadness and that I didn’t feel like doing anything. He asked a few things and said that my body was fine, and what I had was a lack of serotonin (aka depression) and gave me some pills for that. Anyway, he told me to do blood and urine examinations. They came out fine, the doctor was right.

I feel better now, I am feeling that I am caring for myself.

Check! 18 months ago

All is good. Have to go back for blood test (no breakfast for lab test… you’d think I knew that much, my mom working in a hospital lab and all, but no! Besides, I was hungry ;)), which will do in the next couple of days (I don’t feel particularly cholesterolly anyway).

Eh, 19 months ago

any idea how long this will take? I scheduled something a (long) while back, and made the mistake of telling them there’s no rush (and didn’t want to back off from my statement, apparently!). So they gave me an appointment two months away, which is coming in a couple of weeks. But now something else has come up on that exact day around noon (how arbitrary is that!). I don’t know if a 3-hour span is enough for them to do whatever it is they want to do! Or maybe I should reschedule?

everyone was surprised 19 months ago

in the dr.’s office that my contact info was still the same. I hadn’t been around in so long. The visit was super easy and pleasant. I’m not sure why it took such effort to get round to going.

Most everyone speaks Korean there, in some ways I think it makes me more attentive to what staff are saying. The nurse who drew blood was darling and spoke nearly accent-free Japanese to me.

Now I have referrals for various kinds of tests, so it’ll be a series of check-ups for me. I guess that’s what preventative care is all about.

next week Thursday 20 months ago

finally I have an appointment. hmmm. that wasn’t so hard.

I have a couple of things I should ask about . . . .

Am 21 months ago

I the only one annoyed, when they don’t send your insurance membership card (and everything needs that number on it!) unless you call them personally (weekdays, between the hours of 9AM to 5PM!) to ask them to?

Anyways, have done it for the health insurance, still have to do it for the dental. Oh, what happened to good ol’ days when you could frequently get sick, go to the nearest doctor, and occasionally die? Bad taste, can’t help it.

I’ve got my first appointment. Because it’s a new patient appointment their first one available was mid-January. But at least I’m moving forward on this.

Colonoscopy went well ... and yes, there was video 1 year ago

He said it, and I have it on tape “You’re normal.”

Actually, he then said, “well, your colon is normal.”

No, the cute nurse did not write her phone number on my arm, despite what it looks like.

and the Citrate of Magnesium is actually quite a bit tastier than I expected.

Of course, it could be the fine stemware.
