play the guitar

But I still have a long ways to go. I need to work on singing or getting someone to play long with. But I have reached the point where I can visualize really playing music.

i should probably just go buy strings. but i dont really get how to play. do they have books at the library or do you Have to get lessons?

I want to learn to play the guitar by next summer and hopefully help with my music… I write my own songs and all but I need music to back them up.

my husband put new strings on my guitar. very nice.

i really want to learn how to play the guitar. the music is really beautiful and it would be so much fun to play. but i dont really have a guitar actually i think my mom has one but its strings are all broken.

but I think my strings are bad, I mean… one is different gauge or something. it sounds bad.
I need to do something about that.

So I’m back to practicing regularly, switching between working on songs (like the acoustic bit at the beginning of “Crazy On You” by Heart – which is HARD) and fingering drills.

For the fingering drills, I’ve actually written a tool that serves up random drills in whatever key I like – GuitarCardio.com – that keeps my practices from getting stale, and helps me push my theory & fingerboard knowledge.

first official week of practicing and my fingers are falling off.

but i couldnt be happier :]

..... and have created a ‘bucket list’ and on it is play guitar which I thought would be easier than some of the other items, like ‘be a nicer kinder person’ ‘learn a language’ ‘walk the great wall of china’ etc. So have started. Am completely rubbish but will strum on!!

this week i picked up my guitar i had leaning against my wall for 2 years and actually starting practising and playing it, so far i learned at least 12 different chords, some strumming patterns and theory, woohoo!!
so much fun
