I was proud of the work I did and thought I was done but then two days ago I found four more big bags to go out and I’ve got a closet and a dresser that I think needs going over too. That may be the project for later today.

I’ve purged my part of the closet, books, and other stuff and the house feels better. I think the key to this is keeping with a “one in one out” rule throughout the year (for the most part) and then also revisiting it every year or two. Crossing this one off my list for now.
Still need to take then to Goodwill, but it feels like progress.
I want to get rid of the superfluous junk that makes my daily life harder. I want to get rid of the things I haven’t looked at/ read/ listened to/ worn for at least a year and free up more space for living.
Stocking up on food is another type of clutter. I’d buy in bulk from time to time but then I’d also tend to buy about a weeks work of food at the grocery store every week, just out of habit and thinking that was what I needed. Recently I have become quite good at meal planning and using up all the stuff we have in the house. All those past trips to Costco and Top when things are “10 for $10” have left me with tons of tuna, noodles, rice, soups… you get the idea. Now I can close the cupboards, I have almost all of the spare food stuff out of the garage, and best of all I have only had to spend about half of what I normally do at the grocery store these past two weeks!
... but now I can tell it is time to take a new look. I’ve already gotten rid of some old bags and boxes that I was keeping for who knows what reason. I still need to get rid of some old exercise equipment, clean out the linen cupboard, and get rid of some old fake plants around here (at least!!)
