How I did it: Not only did I ride a horse on the beach, but I got to ride a horse through the tropical rainforest of Australia and then canter down the beach.  It was everything I love all rolled into one.  If only there was a kangaroo hopping along with us, I would have been in heaven. 

I spend time travelling all around Australia and one of my stops, my favorite place in the entire country, was Port Douglas.  From there my tour guide picked me up and took me about 45 minutes outside of town to a city called Mossman where there was lots of sugar cane farms and ranches.  I took a guided tour with just two other people.  It rained on us for a few minutes, but other than that the weather was ok.  It is truly something I will remember for the rest of my life.  I hope to move to Port Douglas sometime in the next 10 years or so. Do it!!! My friend took me for my birthday to Half Moon Bay: Sea Horse Ranch. It was a beautiful morning, foggy and mystical. The highway was a lovely drive. When we got there we were greeted by the ranch owner, a cat. The ride itself was stunning, we saw dolphins swimming close to shore and it was breathtaking. There was a local race going on that same morning, and they were cheering US on! Wow. Such an awesome birthday!!!!!

If you get there by 8am you get an extra half hour free. Sign up before you get there… call ahead or they might turn you down. Happy Riding! 6 months ago
