I am so excited. This saturday we are taking my son to the little agricultural show that I used to go to when I was his age. It’s close to the house where I grew up and where my mum still lives. It is like the huge royal easter show in Sydney which I love but on a smaller and um, less sophisticated, scale. It is going to be brilliant!!!

The cooking competition is amazing and I’m trying to get my son to enter but he isn’t too keen. And there is a pet show for the kids where they can enter their pets in “dog with the largest feet”, “fluffiest kitten” and “most colourful bird” categories. It is just so nice and innocent and the ground is always super muddy, you can smell the horses and cows before you see them and the Miss Showgirl is judged on her personality and agricultural knowledge rather than her looks!
