Crime and Punishment = too much punishment 1 week ago

Alright well I have tried to get into C n P but it is just not taking hold of me. So I have moved on to Don Quioxte Which is hilarious I have totally been enjoying this book. Funny you learn what you teach I tell students to connect to what you read and I find that I can totally connect with Don Quioxte and so I am much more into that then C n P. Maybe if I were to experience some more punishment I would enjoy C n P more but I am happy without committing any crimes.

I read Anna Karenina 4 weeks ago

Or rather, listened to it on cd, all 20 of them! It was worth it…such a good book. I have recently gotten into reading again but mainly just new fiction. I need to find some sort of listing of books that are considered “classics.”

    This summer I read…

    Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
    The Inferno by Dante
All Quiet on the Western Front by Remarque
Also various teenage girl books that definitely are not classics

right now I’m reading The Last Tycoon by Fitzgerald
    (I like it so far!)

What I've Read Already: 1 month ago

Pride And Prejudice – Jane Austen
    Little Women – L. M. Alcott
Alice In Wonderland/Through The Looking-Glass – Lewis Carroll
The Wizard Of Oz – L. F. Baum
    The Narnia series – C. S. Lewis
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn – Mark Twain
    and
(gave up on, so confusing) Wuthering Heights -Emily Bronte

I am going to attempt to read more Jane Austen, C. S. Lewis, and others. (Count of Monte Cristo, The Scarlet Letter, etc.)

This will take, and I write this without a hint of hyperbole, FOREVER.

    Checking off 1 month ago

So far I can check off:
    Odyseen (parts of it)
Illiaden (parts of it – want to read both entirely, though)
    Holberg
    Aftenstjernen
    1984
    The Metamorphosis
    Tilværelsens Ulidelige Lethed
    Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan and Wendy (they count)

The Bell Jar and The Great Gatsby are next. And possibly Dante’s divine comedy.

I just have too much else to do.

    Oscar Wilde 1 month ago

I’m bringing The Best Of with me on our trip. Not sure if I’ll bring it down to the pool or ocean because it is a old-old-old hard back, but I’ll have plenty of reading time on the plane.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey... 2 months ago

...came in the post today. It won’t get read for a while though. I promised myself I would finish the books I already own. So It’s going in a box under my bed until I’m ready.
