These are some things I do to help the “Green Movement” along in my little corner of the Universe: 1)recycle, 2)installed energy-efficient light bulbs, 3)turn off the water while I’m brushing my teeth, 4)planted a small garden, 5)had my cat spayed, 6)buy “fair trade” coffee, 7)eat seasonal, local food from my area, 8)switched to some natural cleaning products, and 8)carry a cloth grocery bag for purchasing small amount of items from grocery store.
How to help save the planet
How I did it: I gave my parents the credit they deserved. You see, being thirteen at the time, I didn't think my parents would lift a finger to save the planet...until I dropped a hint at my cause. It was crazy, but next thing I knew, my dad was taking out all our light bulbs! Now we recycle, use energy efficent lights, and a low flow shower head is proudly attached to my shower. So even if you think your parents will turn up their noses, ask anyway. You'll be suprised at how easily they give in when it involves a lower lighting bill! :)
Lessons & tips: If you're underage, ask your parents. You may be suprised at how much they agree. And if you're not...then what the hell are you waiting for? Go buy a recycling bin dammit! :D
Resources: Call in about a recycling bin. Your city may offer a service that picks up your cans and plastic bottles during trash day and takes them to the plant. Also Home Depot has a nice selection of greener lighting choices. Plus you can get TONS of resources for everything from organic makeup to cloth baby diapers in The Green Book which I picked up at a stop on ou trip through Wyoming. Not to mention the book itself is printed on 100% recycled paper :)

I want to do my small part to help our planet. I want to incorporate some more “green” habits into my life. There are some really simple things everyone can do to help the environment. I will have to come up with a list.
