Thrilled! 
"Life of an extra: A grand ol' time being herded and trying to act without drawing attention."
How I did it: A woman in the local film business had seen me perform a play, where I played a nerdy character. Well, a local talent agent was looking for nerds for a film being filmed here (Sorority Wars - a Lifetime movie). So she put us in touch with each other.
Just goes to show what connections can come from saying yes to opportunities. So I got a chance to be an extra today, and perhaps later this week and next week as well! We'll see.
Lessons & tips: Wear sunscreen. I did not. Ouch.
And as many changes of clothes as possible, even some things you may not have been asked for, in case they decide to switch up what kind of an extra you are.
Be vewy vewy quiet, and eager to jump to work any time they're looking for extras. It's just a more interesting 14 hour long day that way.

Ok, so… I’m not going to be winning any oscars for it, but I did film with some local guys on a movie. I played Detective Dennison. No, I didn’t have a first name. =Þ Basically the character was this hired mob muscle pretending to be a police officer to get to the main character of the film. He and I have a brief tussle. I chase him around in a car. Trap him in an alley with the car. He Jumps and slides across the roof of the car. I jump across to the passenger side and out the door to chase after him, then I get hit by a truck. =Þ It was a alot of fun. But, I’m not going to mark this as complete until I get a more major role.
