I’ve been living in Italy now since August, and I bought a dart board at the end of October, but never put it up because I didn’t have a nail or anything to protect the wall from my roommates. I finally put it up about a month ago, but have been so busy with classes that I haven’t played much. However, having it up and playing every once in a while is improving my game, and the board was about 15 euros with six darts, so I’m not out much money either!

I lost a game of cricket night before last to my sister. It was by one bullseye at the end of the game, and she’d pounded one 18 on me before that…I was using her darts and a soft-tip electronic board and I think the ochie was a bit off, and I’d beaten her the game before by pounding bulls. And she switched darts mid-game.
The point is, that’s the first game of any kind I’d lost in a long while. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I lost before that. I’m gonna keep playing and working on my game because it’s fun, but if my goal is to get better at darts…well, I’m already better than most. No need to be greedy. Done it becomes.

I already get the “wow, he’s good!” whispers at the pub…I think it’s time for another level. They do have some competitive throwing at the Ale House across the street, so I might wish to give it a try.
my little sister asked me to put up our dart board, so combining this with my “Be an awesome big brother” goal, I spent a few hours figuring out how to hang our board outside, how to pad fence behind it and the wall below it so that the darts that miss (she’s 13) don’t get damaged, moving a giant umbrella to shade us from the Spanish sun while playing, etc. And I did it all with her and including her so that she was part of everything and felt like she was doing it too. It was fun, but better yet is that she seems happy and seems to be getting less stressed as we play, which is great because she can be a little (read is almost always enormously, incredibly, ridiculously) tough to deal with. We both aren’t very good, but we’re getting better and I think it helps us bond and helps her deal with things by distracting her from her difficulties.
Who would have thought darts could be so meaningful?
I work at a pub, and everytime my friends asked for a round on darts I always finished in ridiculous. So I started playing more often to combat my fear to the bull xD
Then it became into a funny obssesion, I play darts every time I can, I bought my equipment, my dart’s board, my own special flights…
It’s a must! I need to be really good on darts, I’m getting better and better every day. But my goal is to enter in a team or play alone in a local championship.
Let’s see what happens!~
I’ve bought a dartboard. Tomorrow night I’m going to have two games going from 501 (preferably by myself as my maths is rubbish at the moment). Can’t wait to get good at a pub game
