bec012The quintessential Chopin piece.
At home, we’ve always had a bunch of classical CDs lying around. They were there since my childhood. Each CD pertained to a particular composer (Brahms, Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Mozart) containing their works only.
One particular day, on a whim, I selected a CD – Frederic Chopin: 4 Ballades, 4 Impromptus – and inserted the disc in my CD player. Ballade No. 1 Op. 23 in G Minor was the first track.
I can say with full conviction that hearing this indescribably beautiful piece was a defining moment for me. I knew that from then onward, I would make it a personal goal of mine to learn piano. I’ve been learning for five years now and every step I take brings me closer to achieving my ultimate goal of learning and mastering Chopin’s Ballade no. 1 Op. 23 in G Minor. It will touch your soul, truly.
