Finding & deciding what treasures to use.
I have a ton of little figures and bits and bobs so it shouldn’t be all that hard.

My husband brought home a bag of old bottles from a diver buddy of his. I think I will hide some of them on the beach for a beach comber to find. I have so many bottles they are overtaking my home…I certainly won’t miss a few…plus it might make someone’s day to find a neat old medicine bottle tucked up under a piece of driftwood.

My first two treasures were hidden while on a walk with Susan on Sunday. She chose to hide the sparkley fish ornament with giant kissey lips (it even opens with a clasp in the torso to reveal a secret hiding place for more teenie treasures!).
I hid the Mickey Mouse pen, wich I specifically bought in Florida for this purpose, on a dry ledge under the slide.
I hear that the temperature is rising and we’re in for a (relatively) warm weekend… wonder if that means there’ll be kids at the playground??
I have gathered six lovely little treasures to hide. I was waiting to do the actual hiding until I bought my new digital camera, however now that I’ve delayed that purchase for at least a month, I think I’ll have to lug M’s larger, less discreet camera around with me while I do my sneaksing. I have some ideas though, and I’m pretty excited to get started – woo hoo!

He was just a little bigger than my thumb; left in a mossy log near the sloth inducing island hammock. Idle hands hide devils in trees.
And that makes 43.
But I’ll be back. It’s been much too much fun to stop.
Your turn…

This sparkly flaming heart (with a tiny red one attached) was part of Paul’s altar. I’m not entirely sure what it represented, but I might have an idea.
I put it in a beautiful little inlaid brass pillbox and took it on one of our hikes in the woods on Gambier Island, leaving it inside a giant tree in the middle of the forest.
It may never be found, but that’s okay. I know it’s there.

41 – I hid this tiny silver Buddha amongst some tree roots. I’ve had him for years and years – so long that I don’t remember where he came from… but he looked happy and peaceful sitting there.

This one I did leave. When we were walking in the woods, we passed a massive tree that had fallen down. I hadn’t brought anything with me, so I left the painted wooden bracelet I was wearing in the center.

Oh, how I wish I could claim this one, but I can’t. I did want to share it though. Even if just for inspiration.
At the end of our block there’s an art piece somebody (possibly from the house with eyes for windows, but I can’t be sure) nailed onto the telephone pole there about a year ago. About a week ago, this painted pink soldier showed up there too. He’s still there, which I love.
I’m so tempted.

I left him sitting quietly on a quarter on a pier along the lake. He’s so small, I hope someone takes notice before a crow makes off with him, thinking him an elegant worm.
