Justin Guitar offers free lessons. It’s really great. I’ve been doing the finger gym everyday. I’m also trying to learn Shine on You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd. Here’s a link to:http://www.justinguitar.com

I’ve been taking lessons and I’m really improving, but I have to stop soon cause I’m broke : ( and my guitar instructor was so cute and sweet. Sad.
Here is another update on the Guitar playing – I have made a comittment to play my guitar for no less than 15 minutes each day. Now really that doesn’t sound like much and when I was first told to do this, well I thought what is the point of only 15 minutes per day as if I can’t play for at least 1 hour daily then there is no point.
I decided to try it and what huge benefits I have seen. We all know how fast the time flies (By the way I am writing a book on that very subject) and as each day passes the 15 minute rule is providing several benefits. Here are the benefits I have received:
1) I feel alot better about myself knowing I am accomplishing something.
2) People around me are actually reminding me to make sure I get that 15 minutes in every day (support is great) – These same people laughed when I first started – not now.
3) My retention is getting alot better as music helps with Brain enhancement – check my blog as I have written about the benefits of music there. http://carltambeau.com
4) 15 minutes by times stretches into 30 minutes as I hate putting the guitar down some days while other days I have no choice.
5) By only doing 15-30 minutes each day I accomplish more and have a burning desire to get back to it the next day. Each day building on that will make me that much more successful.
6) I am reading music a whole lot better.
Now I could go on and on but at this point those are the main benefits I could quickly think of – I know there are more but that is good for now. If you do get a chance to check out my blog see what I have to say on Music and How it Enhances not only our moods but also Enhances Focus and Concentration.
Well now this has been a fun and challenging goal. My passion has always been music but due to time restraints in life I have not always been able to pick up the guitar to play the guitar.
Recently I started learning to pick the guitar along with reading music. This is a fantastic pastime and very soothing to the soul.
It has been proven playing a musical instrument can lower your blood pressure, have you focusing on daily tasks better, it can also leave you with a sense of accomplishment. Just having a sense of accomplishment in music can spin off many benefits related to music and living life in peace as well as harmony.
My recommendation for those who may not be listening or playing music at some level to do so as the benefits are huge.
Now I have had my acoustic Fender guitar since 1981 and you would think by now I could really play the thing. But OH NO I have let so many things get in the way and here it is 2008 – even though I can play and sing fairly well, I certainly can’t do much more than strum and pick some tunes but mainly strumming. It is easy to play the old songs but I need to get up to date with my skills so I need to get started on a new plan. I love music and I play alot of country but would like to branch out and change some things before I get too old.
