I am thankful for 60 degree days in the middle of November. What an unexpected surprise!

Beautiful weather during the gloomy days of fall does WONDERS for soul

for having found such an awesome boyfriend!!!

I decorated our bedroom with Christmas today. He didn’t even flinch. I kept bring up more and more stuff and not a word was said.

That’s not exactly true, he said “You look happy”.

And you know what? I was. I love Christmas stuff! Lights and trees and assorted decorations, and lots and lots of shiny things.

Last time I decorated my bedroom with Christmas was 6 years ago. The boy was in kindergarten and I remember laying in bed reading with him with just twinkling Christmas lights to see. It was so sweet.

Then I stopped for a few years… I put a tree up more out of habit than anything else, my heart wasn’t in it. I just couldn’t do the decorating, holidays weren’t fun anymore.

Like I said, I am thankful for my awesome boyfriend. I found a perfect compliment to ME. Thank you M for letting me be ME and for all the support.

And most of all, thank you for not bitching about Christmas lights in the bedroom :)

I am thankful for the peace and tranquility that surround me these days.

there were a gazillionth a time i wished i said spoke that which i whispered in my mind. the mental notes of appreciated, of acknowledgment, of understanding the depth of someone’s words or actions. to translate to words the warm, fuzzy shimmering glow of being moved by another being.

i decided to start with my parents, the keys to who i am today. i got a set of blank thank you cards and i filled one out for each of them – COMPLETELY filled with my scribblings which i hope are legible.

i wrote those cards out almost a year ago, and i keep telling myself every other day that today will be the day i actually give it to them.

i’ve yet to do so. why is it so difficult to share with them my innermost gratitude and appreciation for the blessed life i lead?

my parents will be renewing their wedding vows next week, 35 years of marriage. i’m planning to give them these long overdue cards on that day.
