BeeQueCookin'

I am living up to this goal in a very big way lately. I have helped cook and serve 2 community dinners so far this season, one for approximately 70 people, another for about 25. It was a privilege and a delight. It has made Thanksgiving more meaningful for me this year. I have always had mixed feelings about celebrating it, for a number of reasons. I’ll leave off elaborating upon said reasons any further than to say I am part Native American…and it’s celebration, while a day of family and community, is also a day of cultural dissonance for me. But I live my life by trying to see the best in anything, anyone, and any situation, and these experiences have been beautiful. Anything that builds community and lifts the spirit is inherently good. 15 months ago

BeeQueCook & Bake

I am talking food here people, not meth and weed….

Anywho…..I am a good cook and a good baker…..but recent history has seen me doing little of either. For various reasons. And a host of excuses…..my kitchens too small, organic food/groceries are expensive etc etc blah blah blah….this is me telling myself to shut the hell up already and JUST DO IT, get back into my kitchen Goddess groove!!!!!!!!!!

Once I move I am going to restock allllllll those items a well stocked kitchen pantry has. Start making bread again, cooking meals for my soul and for leftovers (me luvs some good leftovers). Experiment with new dishes and baked goods. AND I need to find my cookbooks in storage….

Edit: That’s an old set of photos of some foccacia I baked a few winters ago. 22 months ago

EimearIt's a bit crazy

but…...... I bought a cooker.

It doesn’t fit into the available space in my kitchen, and I won’t be able to connect it, probably until after Christmas, but I really, really like it and it’s the last one left in Dublin.

I don’t like my present Creda cooker at all. Never did. Nasty thing.

It’s days are numbered.

I shall cook and bake in my new Cannon as soon as I dismantle and rearrange my entire kitchen, and get it installed. 5 years ago

EimearMade a start

this weekend – and it really is just a start! Reviewed the cookery books I have gathering dust on various shelves, and consigned three of them to my BX release pile. That felt good!

Bought a new frying pan, some organic butter, and things like mushrooms and fresh eggs. I am so dependant on convenience food/take away/ eating out that even making a sandwich or an omlette is a big step forward!

Going to work my way through Delia!! 5 years ago
