    4. I Read and I have basic literature knowledge unlike most of people my age.
    5. I like to think I am different.=]

    14. I don't believe the customer is always right  — 8 months ago

I see this on both sides of the counter.

As a service provider, I see that customers don’t always understand that you have to strike a balance between customer service and efficient/effective operations. Also, customers don’t always understand that other customers might not feel the same way they do.

As a customer, I don’t expect establishments to bow to my wishes. I don’t assume to know more than they do about running their business.

On a related note, I don’t believe the people you work with at work are your customers. Someone decided to think outside the box one time and call them “internal” customers. No… they’re part of the team, and you all work together to achieve a common goal. That makes it teamwork rather than customer service and takes that whole “customer is always right” nonsense out of the equation.

    13. I can take some pretty darned good photographs  — 10 months ago

My photos aren’t incredibly artsy (unless by accident), but some are good enough to blow up into posters and hang on my walls at home and work. I have to admit, my camera is pretty fool proof, so I can’t take credit for f-stops and depth of field and focus and all that other junk real photographers worry about. I just take lots of pictures, and some come out great. That makes me happy.

    I'm a decent cook.  — 11 months ago

I haven’t made up a lot of my own recipes, but I’m pretty good at picking out good ones and following them. Most of what I make is healthy, and I pick out stuff the people I’m feeding like.

    12. I'm stubborn, but not so stubborn that I won't change my mind sometimes  — 1 year ago

I can be very firm with the way I want to handle things at work or in my personal life. I’ll tell someone “absolutely not!” Then sometimes I think about it, and realize whatever they were suggesting was good, or that my adamant rejection wasn’t warranted. So I’ll eat some crow, and let them know I changed my mind.

    4. I'm a good pet mama.  — 1 year ago

My daughter won a goldfish at a fair when she was two and a half and it lived until it was nine.

For years I had a cat who was very healthy and well taken care of. She was very loyal to me.

My guinea pig is not trained at all, but she seems to respond to my voice and purrs a little bit when she climbs into my sweater.

    11. I can put the 5 gallon Ozarka bottle on the dispenser  — 1 year ago

I like that I can pick up, pour and place that big old bottle on the dispenser without spilling it. It’s a lot easier now that I’ve been going to Curves, too. File this under “I don’t need no stinkin’ man to help me replace the water bottle.”

Edit 08/17/07: I looked it up. A 5 gallon bottle of water weighs over 41 pounds!

    3. I work well with children  — 1 year ago

I questioned this when I was in Virginia, but working up here again has proved this. Kids like me. They don’t mind when I tell them what to do because I let them know that I believe they can do it. When things go a step further and I let them know that they won’t be able to squirm their way out of doing it, they seem to accept that without too much fuss. They talk to me because I listen to what they’re saying.

    10. I have a sense of wonder about ordinary things  — 1 year ago

I notice things that make me take pause and fill me with wonder quite a bit. Things like:

    • a full moon
    • a cardinal on a wire
    • an airplane flying overhead
    • sunflowers
    • Venus and Jupiter
    • the sound of a train

I like that I feel a sense of wonder about somewhat ordinary things.

    9. I believe in the good in people  — 1 year ago

This quality has lead me to be manipulated and hurt, but I still think it’s a good quality. In the end, I’d rather be somewhat susceptible to bad people than cynical about the good ones.
