sugarpeas is an extroverted, organized tree-hugger
So, having gone out dancing until la-a-te last night (well, okay, this morning…) I spent most of my buy-nothing Saturday morning in bed, trying to convince my cats to let me sleep a little later than normal (~6:30am). A little apartment cleaning, a little reading (Shogun, on loan from a friend), and cooked up some lunch from stuff in my fridge (leftover rice, tofu, frozen stir-fry veggies).
Now I’m making bread, which I haven’t done in almost a year but love to do. The challenge with the bread was that I didn’t have any white flour, so the entirety of the starch is coming from whole-wheat pastry flour. This stuff could turn out like a rock, but since it is based on a challah recipe I’m hoping the eggs will help to capture as much air as possible and give the bread a little loft. It is rising right now, I’ve got my fingers crossed.
For tonight, a movie (again, on loan from a friend), probably a nice bath, some dinner (with bread perhaps?) and bed. I’m also gonna try to go through my knitting supplies – I’d like to start knitting some more, and I’ll bet that I’ve got enough yarn in my stash for some little project or other.
I’ve also re-discovered the library, as a source of free internet and books that I don’t have to buy OR find a place to stash in my tiny apartment. This is win/win, in my opinion, and I even like the building – SF public library, main branch. I highly recommend it.
