So we found this tiny church in Santa Monica in an internet search, thought it sounded interesting, and paid a visit yesterday. I’ve experienced nothing like it… not sure what to think. Among the many colorful moments: singing the Beatles’ “Imagine,” being told to hug myself and say “(insert own name), I love you, I love you, I love you, thank you, thank you, thank you,” and the weekly blessing of the children “we thank god for you and bless you and want you to know we love you just the way you are, amen.”
The surprise was that most of the 30+ people gathered were over the age of 40, most seemed 50-70+.
This was quite a trip. I’m totally calling for an end to these “woo woo” church visits. Next week I’m voting for the local united methodist service.
