Can you say Monopoly? 2 months ago

Just got a windfall from an unlikely source, and combining that with what I saved this month and had previously saved over the past year, I now have more than a month’s worth of emergency funds! :D

I’m not sure how anyone else does it, but I calculated one month based on how we live right now, with the addition of some money to possibly pay for health insurance. You never know, and if you have a pre-existing health condition, it’s a must-have.

I eventually want three month’s worth, but I’ll sleep a little more soundly at night with what I have. :))

Well, as I’ve updated the status of debt, I suppose I should update here as well. Been a while. And lemme tell you, savings interests rates are all pretty crummy right now. :( If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

I’ve managed to put away ~700 or so. No where near where I want to be as far as a one month fund. At least it will cover a deductible ...

Working on this combined with a budget.

FNBO at 6% APY ‘til Sept. Then it goes down, but still well above 5%. Made an initial deposit of $100 and should start making auto-transfers next month. On my way to accomplishing this goal. :)
